BUILDING SKILLS AND RESILIENCE TO HANDLE DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS

AIM: To give you the skills to confidently engage in conversations with clients, employees, employers and peers that you would normally want to avoid. Learning Outcomes:
  • Improve confidence in stressful situations
  • Decrease anxiety in the workplace
  • Improve the ability to see different perspectives in any conversation
  • Understand the importance of having a plan when entering an important conversation
  By the end of this course you will:
  • Access different perspectives to understand where others may be coming from in conversations that aren’t going the way you want them to
  • Better able to manage your personal emotional state
  • Be able to create a plan for engagement and reflection
  • Successfully negotiate with others using tools like framing, labelling and the effective use of open versus closed questions
  It will provide you with the skills to:
  • Manage your personal state in a way that positively influences the conversation
  • Change perspective with ease to ensure a ‘win/win’ conversation
  • Plan effectively for any conversation where the outcome is important
  • To self reflect and improve your conversational skills
